Nikos Vlachos

Níkos was born in Chicago but has roots to Northern Idaho where he spent summers on his grandparent’s farm and attended undergraduate school at the University of Idaho. He majored initially in Theater, and as actor performed in several university plays, but received his B.S. Degree in Premedical studies.

Writing primarily articles related to the field of medicine for most of his professional career, like Chekov, he returned to his passion for the theater in August 2002 with THE BED his first play.

THE BED was workshopped with students and faculty from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and recently awarded first prize in the American Theatre Co-op (ATC) Fall 2003 Contest for Original Full-Length Plays and finalist in the 2004 Last Play Standing Playwriting Contest produced by Another Chicago Theatre Company.

THE BED had its West Coast premiere on January 6, 2006 at Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Other featured works include A FROSTY MUG, DO YOU WANT TO BE A STAR, MENAGE À…, THE BABY PHOTOGRAPHER and SCRAMBLED EGGS.
