Evan Guilford-Blake

Evan Guilford-Blake writes plays, prose and poetry for adults and children. His plays have been performed internationally and won 44 playwriting competitions, including the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival competition, twice. He is the only playwright to have been so honored.

Thirty-six of his scripts are published. Evan’s published prose includes the novel The Bluebird Prince for middle-grade students (and their parents), adapted from his award-winning play; the adult novel Animation; and the award-winning short story collection American Blues (all available on Amazon and other e-retail sites), as well as the chapbook In the Realms of Light and Darkness.

His work has also appeared in roughly 75 journals and anthologies, winning 24 awards and garnering two Pushcart Prize nominations. He has taught playwriting and fiction at several venues. He and his wife (and inspiration) Roxanna, a healthcare writer and jewelry designer, live in the southeastern US with their two beloved rescue mutts, the small, aptly named Winnie Words, and the incredible hulk they call Baldrick.
